[Guide] MTK Sprout Porting Guide - Port Android One ROMs To MT6582/92 [FULL GUIDE WIth Fixes]

Hello Friends, Today i am Going to Share an Guide to Port MTK ROMs From Sprout To generic MT6582/92. This is Best Guide For Sprout ROM Porting Which Includes All The Fixes For all Commmon Issues Which you Will Face After Booting Into ROM.Sprout ROM Porting Guide Involves Fixes Such As RIL FIX,GPS Fix,2nd SIM and Hotspot Fixes and Many More.SO Without Wasting Much Time Here is Full Guide:-


Note= If You Want to Port CM Based ROM Then You Must have to Use CM As Your Base ROM (For E.g= To Port AOKP/RR/AICP You can Use CM13 as Base).

SPROUT PORTING GUIDE:-

1. Copy All FIles in System/lib/HW Folder From Base ROM to Sprout ROM 
2. Copy And Replace All CM13 Xport Libs Except libAndroid,libAndroidServer,libandroidruntime,libweb* in Sprout ROM 
3. Now Copy All Bins From Sprout and Paste it Base ROM, It Will ask to Replace That Time Skip Them And Now Copy All Bins From Base ROM and paste it in Sprout ROM.
4. Now Copy Folders Such As Usr , Vendor , Xbin From Base ROM To Sprout ROM.
5. Copy Folders such as Bluetooth,Firmware,Security and WIFI From Etc Folder From Base ROM to Sprout ROM.
6. Copy Files Such As Media_codecs*.xml , spn-conf.xml,apn-conf,agps_conf From Base ROM And paste It In Sprout ROM
7. Finally Copy META-INF Of Base ROM to Sprout ROM
8. In Boot.img,Extract Boot.img And Copy Init.environ.rc  From Sprout ROM To base ROMs Boot.img And Repack The Boot.img. 
9. Now Repack The Sprout ROM To AnyFILENAME.Zip And Flash It

If You Followed All Steps Properly,It Should Boot into ROM With Some Bugs To Fix Them Follow The Following Fixes And Repack And Flash.

NOTE:- For BugFixes I Suggest to Keep WinMerge And TickleMyAndroid Softwares in Your PC Those Helps a lot.

1) Fix 2nd SIM And Implement MTK RIL :-

• Extract Telephony_common.jar Of Both ROMs and Replace MediaTekRIL From CM to Sprout + 2 Lines in Build.prop.
  2 Lines are :- 

ro.telephony.ril_class=MediaTekRIL

ro.telephony.ril.config=fakeiccid

• Also Replace Smalies like SIMRecords, UICCCard1 , UICCCard2 , UICCCard , Subscriptioninfoupdater From Telephony --> No Sim FIX

2) Fix RIL in AOSP ROMs [COMPLICATED]

Extract Telephony_common Of Both ROMs ( Take Base as AOSPA ) And Merge Vacant Spaces in Files Accordingly.

• Phone.smali 
• PhoneBase.smali  
• PhoneFactory.smali  
• PhoneProxy.smali 
• RIL$1.smali  (1 Line Only )
• RIL$2.smali  (1 Line Only )
• RIL$RILReceiver.smali  (All)
• RIL.smali  
• SubscriptionInfoUpdater.smali (All)

Now In Uicc Folder Merge Everything In Following Smalis

• UiccCard.smali
• UiccCard$2.smali
• SIMRecords.smali
• IccCardProxy.smali

Now to Fix USSD :- 

• In Uicc Folder 
• Gsmphone.smali ( add onUssdFinished Method ( Compare DU Tele) )
• Now Add mtkRil And SProut RIL(if Not Added previously) and Repack Telephony And Add two MtkRIL lines in Build.prop ( of fakeiccd )

3) AutoRotation Fix And Hotspot Fix:- 

For AutoRotation:-

Extract Framework-res.apk, Values> Bool ( <Boot>Rotation Sensor= true) 

For Hotspot:- 

Extract Framework-res.apk, Values> arrays( <arrays>wlan Change To ap ) 

4) For FM RADIO Fix :- 

• Copy All LibFm* , LibMediaplayer , libmtkplayer , libaudioflinger 
• Copy Mediaplayer.smali ( From CM or AOSP based ROM )  ( If PORT ROM Is CM Based Then take All From CM Based ROM Else If Its AOSP based Then Take libs form AOSP ROMs)
• Copy FM Radio app From Any Other Working ROM and Add it in Your ROM (System/Apps)

5) Fix Home Button To Show Recent And Back Lit Of Buttons

Decompile framework-res.apk And Go To Values And Add Following Lines

To Show Recent:-

For Backlit:- 

<bool name="config_button_brightness_support">true</bool>

6) GPS Fix 

• Delete libmnlp in xbin
• add libmnl and libcurl in libs From Your Base ROM
• Replace mtk_agpsd in bin
• remove all gps.**.so in hw leaving only gps.mtxx.so

How To Do It ?

• Open Xposed Framework ,Select Download Tab And Search For Module Called "Pokemon GO Controls"
• Download "Pokemon GO Controls" Module and Install It But Dont Open It !
• Now Go To Xposed Framework - Tap Modules And Tick On Our Newly Added Module (Pokemon GO Controls) And Restart Your Android Device.
• Now Open "Pokemon GO Controls" App, It Will Ask For Your Location Info- Select "Allow" And Also It will Ask For Mock Location To Enable- Just Click OK And Select The App (Pokemon GO Controls) To Mock Location.
• Now In Up Side, Select Location Of Your Locality ( I Strongly Suggest to Select Location As Where You Live - Dont Change Location To Other Countries To Avoid BAN ) And Select Orange Play Button To Start App Service.
• Now Open Pokemon GO App, It Will Show Map Of Location Which You Put in Above Step And Also One Joystick Will be Placed Over Screen To Navigate The Player in App :)

• Pokemon GO Controls App Simply Mocks Your Location To Your Desired Place I.e It Pranks The Pokemon GO Game That You Are At That Particular Location.

This Device Got Released With MIUI5 Running Android 4.2.After About 5-6 Months Of Wait Xiaomi Updated it To 4.4.2 By Providing MIUI6 And Later MIUI7 Update.However we Dont Got Android Lollipop Update But Thanks To Other Developers Like Fire855,Pocarropa,KERMI We Got Android Tons Lollipop Based ROMs And MarshMallow Based ROMs For Xiaomi Redmi Note 3GAlso.But Still Those Custom ROMs lacks At Stability Which We Can Get From MIUI-An Stock ROM for Our Device.MIUI8 Is Another Update From Xiaomi To Its Own Android Skin.Its is Also Confirmed That MIUI8 Will be Released For Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G As well. = Well MIUI8 Is Much More Impressive Than MIUI7.where MIUI7 Was Just Looking Like Theme Over V6. I Was Expecting to Get MIUi8 On Redmi Note 3G With Lollipop Update So That New Update Will Have Newer OS But Unfortunately Xiaomi Didnt Provided Lollipop Update Over MIUI8.
= As There Is No Lollipop Update, MiUi8 With Kitkat Running Still Lacks Sometimes.The MIUI8 Update Which We Got Doesnt Comes with Some Features like Clone Apps and Second Space Which Are in MIUI8 Of LP/MM based ROMs on Other Xiaomi Devices.This is Surely Disappointing Move But Still MIUI8 Is Definately Recommanded To Update Over MIUI6/7.

= Lets Come to Point and Talk About MIUI8, In MIUI8, MIUI is Seems to be More Beautiful Than Previous Versions,Xiaomi Have Polished MI Apps Like Dialer, Messagings, Settings Or Other Apps Which Now Looks Cool. There is Some Features Added Under LockScreen, Status bar And Many More You Can Check Out Changelog :p Where you Can Get Info More Easily For Features

= MIUI8 Is Fully Modded Over MIUI7 When It Comes to Statusbar, Now In QuickSettings Panel,There is Two Way Of Layout Of QuickSetiings, I.e Are Seperate and Combined Both Looks Cool But I Prefer Combined. There is Space Given in Status bar For Weather Conditions.

= Performance in MIUI8 A lot Better Than MIUI5/6/7. Time of Shutdown and Restart Also Decreased so Device Can boot faster than Previous.There Is No Problem at All in Performance Or gaming, I tried Causal Games like Subway Surfer and Heavy Games Like Modern Combat 4, Both Ran Well I didn't noticed Frame-drops, it Looks quite same As MIUI7.

= Benchmarks Scores Of MIUI8 Are:-

Antutu Benchmarks = 25644

Nenamark 2 = 61.4 Fps

= Camera App Got Minor Changes Over UI But Camera Quality is Superb.There Are Better Controls For Perfect Capture.Also Controlling Exposure is also Easy And Super. Gallery Application is Updated,Now We can Lock Photo Orientation So It Wont Get Rotated When You Open Them.

= As If Now I didn't faced Any Bugs,Common Features WIFI,Hotspot,Bluetooth working Fine.But When I boot Into ROM My 1 Sim Was Not working ( Carrier- Vodafone) But after I Merged An Fix From MIUI7 And It Fixed. I will Arrange Patch If Anyone Needs.
ROM is Not Pre-Rooted, There is SuperSU Package in Download Link, Check It Out If you Need ROOT Else There is Root Access Option Also Present in Security App.

= Battery Life Also Superb, I didnt used MiUi7 Much But Still Its Quite Better than CM12/13.After All Stock ROM can Be Most Optimized Than CM.

Final Words:-= I Think Stock ROM is Always Great, So No Complain For Any Stability Issues but Xiaomi Should Provide LolliPop Update Which Can Enhance MIUI8 On Our Device.Alas We Still Have Support from MIUI And We Are Getting Latest version Unlike Other Manufacturers- This is Great Thing- So I Am Ready to Ignore No LP Update on RN3G 
= So Should You Try This ROM ? -- Off Course,Definitely,Sure Its Worth To Flash, Its An Better Update Than MIUI7.

How To Flash MIUI 8 On Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G:-
Note:- I Always Suggest To Clean Flash ROM Instead of Updating It From Last Update, Because It Will Boot with Pure performance :P

Make Sure You Have Rooted Your Device and Also Flashed Latest TWRP Recovery (Use 2.8.6 linked Above).

1. Now Download ROM Place them in External/Internal SDCARD (Anywhere But Without in any Folder) 
2. Now Reboot Your Device to Recovery, for that go to Updater App,Select Menu button>there will be option that "Reboot in Recovery" OR Switch off Your Device and Press Volume Up+ Power Button At Same Time Till MI Logo Comes. 
3. Select Wipe, And Do Swipe for Factory Reset ( It will Wipe Cache / System/Dalvik Cache ) 
4. Now Select "Install" And Browse Towards MIUI8 ROM Placed in SDcard/Internal Storage. 
5. It Will Flash ROM And After Flashing It will Indicate SucessFul Flash. 
6. Now Again Go-to Install And Select TWRP Recovery 2.8.6.zip File and Flash It. (Because Sometimes MIUI Installs MI Recovery On MIUI ROM Install) 
7. Now Select Reboot Option and It Will Be booted Into MIUI8 ROM. 
8. Enjoy. 

How To Root MIUI8?

• Reboot Into Recovery 
• Select Install and Flash BETA-SuperSU.zip 
• Hit Reboot And Enjoy :)

Step 2: Installing Remix OS into PC

-> Once The Download Gets Complete,Extract The Package Archive And Double Click On Installation Tool.It Will Ask for ISO File Path and Location To Store The Remix OS.If You Want to Install Remix OS into Hard Disk For DualBoot,Select One Of The Local Drives Or You Can Also Install It On Pendrive.Now Browse Towards The .ISO File and Click on "Ok" To Start Installation.
